THE MINISTRY

CCI Christian Fellowship School is a ministry of CCI Christian Fellowship in Opelika, Alabama.  It provides the covering, support and assistance to parents of this church who desire to school their children at home.  Ashely Marsh is the school Administrator who schools her two children, Nelson age 13, and Joshua age 5.  Ashely and her husband John have always schooled their children at home and have almost ten years experience.  Ashely provides leadership and direction for this ministry and is an encourager to all who desire to home school.  Hope Tadych is the school Coordinator who schools her three children, Jacob age 16, Christopher age 14, and Danielle age 13.  Hope and her husband Len have always schooled their children at home and have at least 13 years experience.  Hope provides leadership and encouragement and together she and Ashely work diligently to prepare not only this generation but the generations to come for the greatness God has for them through the venue of the home school.

Ashely and Hope are both available along with their husbands to provide workshops or conferences for your church or your home school groups.  Both have spoken many times on such subjects as discipleship of your children, parenting classes, marital counseling and financial counseling.  Please contact Ashely or Hope at 749-5616 if you would like to have either of them as a speaker to your event.

FUTURE PLANS

CCI Christian Fellowship has hosted schooling events in the past and are currently planning for events in the future.  Plans are currently underway for a conference geared toward sharing home schooling curriculum.  "What curriculum do you use?" is usually the first question asked and CCI sees a need for us to share our ideas and insights into the different curricula we have tried over the years.  Much like a CHEF or GHEA home school conference booths will be set up for each participant to display all of the curricula used in the past or are currently using.  Also, at this time, "vendors may sell their books much like a used book sale.  The difference will be in the education that is provided regarding the different methods used.  Workshops will also be provided by those who have used particular curriculum such as Saxon, Math-U-See, etc. to help in the "how to"s" for those who are new to the books.  This will be a great opportunity to put your hands on the books you have been researching in catalogs without having to travel to Atlanta or Birmingham to see it and you will be able to ask questions and get personal insight from parents who have actually used the material.  Be looking for this special conference in the Spring of 2009.

Another need that Ashely and Hope have seen is for a lending library of home school curricula and books.  CCI Christian Fellowship School is planning to open a lending library in the future and is currently collecting books and other resources for this project.

REQUIREMENTS

CCI Christian Fellowship School does not have an open enrollment.  Parents who desire to use this aspect of our church ministry must be accountable in a discipleship relationship with one of our church leaders.  This is required of everyone including our Administrator and her husband and our Coordinator and her husband.  All other requirements are listed in the Enrollment Agreement following this paragraph.

ENROLLMENT AGREEMENT

Parents agree to:

1. New families are to attend a scheduled orientation clinic in September or a personal consultation with the Home School Coordinator upon application approval.  All families are required to attend two teacher in-service meetings scheduled during the year (September and February).

3. Maintain records of attendance, reporting days present to the coordinator on the "Bi-Monthly/Attendance/Progress Report" form.

6.
