Ty & Ali Maloney

Ali and Ty are originally from Florence, Alabama where they met their freshman year of high school. Ty moved to Auburn in the summer of 2005 to attend college, and Ali followed suit to attend Southern Union Community College in Opelika. The Friday before spring break of Ty's freshman year, Pastor Marsh was invited as a guest lecturer to the College of Architecture, Design, and Construction at Auburn to teach a class on historical preservation and restoration. It was obvious that Pastor Marsh possessed more than knowledge of construction and preservation. Ty was intrigued by his transparency and authenticity. After the lecture, Ty met John at his office in Opelika to discuss the possibility of working as a laborer on some of the construction sites that John and his team were completing over the summer. During that time, Ty attended Bible study on Wednesdays and began developing relationships with the leaders at CCI.
Meanwhile, Ali began to spend time with the ladies of CCI and began to receive the blessings of true friendship with women who were honoring God and their families. In the winter of 2006, Ali and Ty got engaged at the church and were later married in July of 2007 on the front porch of the Marsh's house, the same house that Ty helped complete during his internship. The leaders at CCI provided an incubator for growth throughout college and their early years of marriage. God has provided them with the opportunity to stay in Opelika where they believe God has called them into continued fellowship with the people at CCI. They both looked forward to what the future of this small fellowship holds and believe that it will have a large impact on their families and outside community.
